What this Policy Covers This XIT Communications (“XIT,” also referred to herein as “we,” “us,” and “our”) privacy policy describes how we use and protect the information that you share with us through Web sites and apps owned and operated by XIT. Our policy does not govern Web sites or apps of other parties to which we may provide links or otherwise discuss, as XIT is not responsible for and cannot control the privacy practices or content of others. We encourage our customers to be aware when they leave our sites or apps and to read the privacy statements of each outside Web site or app to which we may link that may collect personally-identifiable information.
We highly respect your privacy and urge you at all times to use caution when providing your personally identifiable information. We suggest that you read the Federal Trade Commission's suggested safety precautions for Internet surfing, which can be found by clicking on www.ftc.gov.
Our Policies and Practices We want to give you the comfort and confidence you need to fully participate in our online offerings so that we can better serve your needs. Following are our policies and practices applicable to XIT apps and/or Web sites:
How We Access, Collect, and Use Certain User Information We access, collect, and use information provided directly by any user (“User”), which includes the person who initially creates an account and anyone who uses the account thereafter when such person installs an XIT app (the “App”) and registers for an account to use the App or when such person registers on an XIT Web site (each, a “Site”). Specifically, this information (“User Data”) includes:
Personally identifiable information, including User’s name, title, email address, location, mailing address, and phone number;
Browser information, cookies, and pixel tags related to User’s access and use of the App and/or Site; and
Data insights XIT obtains based on correlation and analytics of User’s information collected in providing the App and/or Site, which may be used in aggregated and dis-aggregated formats or to obtain trend analytics to provide the App or Site.
How XIT Uses User Data We use such User Data for the following purposes:
Provide User with the App and/or Site, including new features as they become available;
Implement, improve, and/or enhance the App or Site by using User Data in aggregated and dis-aggregated formats;
Tracking, targeting, and delivering content specific to Users' interests and to honor their preferences;
Carry out XIT obligations and enforce XIT rights arising from User’s use of or access to the App or Site; and
Fulfill any other purpose authorized by the User and reasonably required for provision of the App or Site, including App- or Site-related services.
For our internal purposes, we also gather date, time, browser type, navigation history and IP addresses of all Users. This information does not contain anything that can identify Users personally. We use this information for our internal security audit log, trend analysis and system administration, and to gather broad demographic information about our customer base for aggregate use.
With Whom User Data is Shared Except as outlined herein, we do not share User Data outside XIT, its affiliates, directors, officers, agents, or employees (the “XIT Group”). Further, the XIT Group agrees to: (a) use such User Data only for the purpose of providing XIT products or services; and (b) use reasonable efforts to keep the User Data secure and confidential in accordance with this privacy policy and that of the hosting app store.
We will disclose User Data we maintain when required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order, a subpoena or other legal obligation, in response to a law enforcement agency's request, or in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property. Users and customers should also be aware that courts of equity, such as U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, might have the authority under certain circumstances to permit personal information to be shared or transferred to third parties without permission.
We may share aggregate information, which is not personally identifiable, with others, such as business affiliates, to help them better understand our services. This information may include usage and demographic data, but it will not include personal information that identifies the specific User.
Profile Information XIT's online forms may request certain contact information, such as name, organization name and e-mail address. Confirmation and welcome e-mails may be sent. Users may receive information on services and special promotions. XIT will not use any confidential information provided by Users. Out of respect for the privacy of our Users, we provide an option to not receive communications from XIT. A User may unsubscribe at any time by changing the User’s communication preferences or by submitting a formal written request to XIT.
Surveys and Contests From time to time, we invite Users and customers to provide information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the User or customer therefore has a choice whether to disclose requested contact information (e.g. name and mailing address) and demographic information (e.g. zip code or job title). In addition to other uses set forth in this policy, contact information collected in connection with surveys and contests is used to notify the winners and award prizes, to monitor or improve the use and satisfaction of the Site and shall not be shared with third parties without your express permission.
As referenced above, we use "cookies," a piece of data stored on the User’s hard drive containing information about the User. Cookies benefit the User by requiring login only once, thereby saving time while on the Site. If Users reject the cookies, they may be limited in the use of some areas of our Site. For example, the User may not be able to participate in sweepstakes, contests or drawings.
Communications with Us
We have features where Users and customers can submit information to us (such as our feedback forms). Requests for service, support or information may be forwarded as needed to best respond to a specific request. We may retain e-mails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes and to help us to serve Users and customers better.
Communications from Us: Service Updates, Special Offers In order to best serve our Users and customers, we may send updates that contain important information about our Sites, Apps, and services. For example, we may communicate with a User or customer to provide requested services and for account-related issues via e-mail, phone or regular mail.
We offer our Users and customers the option to receive information about our organization, related products, services and special deals. Users and customers can choose not to receive these communications by changing the User’s communication preferences or by submitting a formal written request to XIT.
Correction/Updating Personal Information If a User’s contact information or other User Data changes (such as zip code), or if a User no longer desires our product(s)/service(s), we provide a way to correct or update that User’s information by contacting our office 1-800-232-3312 or xitcom@xit.net.
We retain User Data in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. A User may submit a formal written request to delete certain information the User has provided to us. For requests regarding deletion of the XIT Connect App, please contact XIT’s office at 1-800-232-3312 or it@xit.net.
Security We use reasonable precautions to protect our Users' personal information and to store it securely. Sensitive information that is transmitted to us online (such as credit card number) is encrypted and is transmitted to us securely. In addition, access to all User information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted. Only employees of the XIT Group who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Notification and Changes If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our Users and customers are aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Users and customers should check this policy frequently to keep abreast of any changes.
